Do I get an invoice with my purchase? Yes [sample invoice]
Do you
charge sales tax? - No. I pay retail for all my media and labels. CA sales tax is paid on my end, the Everyday Low Price includes tax! You cannot tax a service/labor (the duplication
itself).
What is the difference
between duplication and replication? -
Duplication is the process of recording or "burning" on to
blank CD or blank DVD discs. The process is very similar to burning
a CD or DVD using your computer CD or DVD drive. Replication is a more
complicated process. A glass master is created from your master disc.
A stamper is used to make exact replicas of your disc, this is the process
used in retail manufacturing of CDs and DVDs.
Should I choose
duplication or replication? - EZ-disc.com only offers duplication.
For short
runs, duplication has a much faster turnaround. If you are on a budget,
disc replication will be more costly to setup. But if you are looking
for over 1000+ units, I advise you look into replication.
What kind of duplication
equipment do you use? - EZ-disc.com is equipped with Recordex and
Microboards standalone auto-loading duplicators. Capable of pushing
out 600 CDs per day. DVD output varies.
How much Data/Audio
does blank media store? - CD-R will hold 80 min of music or 700mb
of data. DVD+R or DVD-R will hold 4.7Gb of data. DVD9 Dual Layer media (DVD+R DL) holds 8.5Gb.
What are some tips for packaging my Disc?
-
Jewel
Cases are out of style. They inevitably break, are bulky to
carry around when promoting on the street, and is the reason why
buy CaseLogic binders.
-
Paper
Sleeves w/ 4" window are the least expensive, offer the
least amount of protection, but are extremely easy to carry in bulk
when working the street. Your cool label design is poorly viewable
through the 4" window on the sleeve. Moreover, sleeves have
a short life span. If the sleeve rips or tears, it's nothing but
trash.
-
Plastic/Tyvek
sleeves w/ soft woven back are an excellent choice for carrying
around large quantities. They are about as inexpensive as paper sleeves,
light, don't scratch the surface of the CD, and often come double-sided
to hold an additional disc or business card. Great for when you are
promoting on the street.
- Clear Plastic Clam Shells are another excellent choice.
The hard cover protects the CD better, is slimmer, lighter and more
durable than jewel cases. After the CD makes it into your listener's
CaseLogic or iPod, clam shells can be reused. With a clear shell,
you can show off the entire face of the CD.
Do you have an
FTP site so I can upload my files? In certain situations we may
mutually determine it will be quicker to send files over the Internet
rather than send via normal mail. Please email me for FTP info. My first recommendation is to mail the master disc.
How are your prices
so low and how do you stay in business? - Quite simply, I keep my
overhead low and I strive for repeat business. I do not offer any other
packages other than duplicated CDs, with label, on a spool. Customer
service is very important to me, I target a certain market and choose
to excel in the product/service that I offer them.
